Good morning! On this, the morning of my (COUGH) 29th birthday (truth be told, this is the 16th anniversary of my 29th birthday - truth in media, you know), I am asking everyone in the Bay Area to please DO SOMETHING (http://www.heralddeparis.com/do-something-wednesday-march-4th-2009/25154).

Lately, a lot of people have asked me - begged me, actually, to come back to San Francisco and rescue the Chronicle. I am afraid the poor Chron has been sucked nearly lifeless, and left on the side of the road to die in the hot sun. The Chronicle was the first daily newspaper I worked for, so it is sad to see it in this state. We are, however, going to have a go at a new media venture in the Bay Area -

The Paris | SF - Honest, bias-free news and information with all the world, national and regional information people need, and just enough of a quirky, snarky perspective as to make the ghost of Herb Caen proud. That effort should be up and running within a week or two. In the meanwhile, the SF venture is organically gaining interest from Bay Area residents on Facebook:

But back to DO SOMETHING 09. If you would please ask your listeners to do something today, I would be most appreciative.
